Atrium
Everyone must badge in separately every time you enter the building. Refrain from "piggy-backing" (following someone through a door without using your badge). If you forget your badge you must return home to retrieve it. There will be no temporary badges issued.
There are tables with cleaning supplies located near each entrance and near the atrium doors on the second floor landing.
Surface sanitizer is to be used to clean your work surfaces. Please use the bottle to apply sanitizer to a towel for surface cleaning and leave the spray bottle on the table. If sanitizing wipes are present, please take one but leave the container. Supplies are limited.
Tissue boxes are for personal use. Please take one box. Do not open tissue boxes and leave them on the table.
Hand sanitizer. Please take one bottle for personal use onsite. Please do not take hand sanitizer for home use.
Safety glasses. If needed please use the safety glasses on the table. Although they have been cleaned, please sanitize before use. Return them to the guard desk. Do not return them to the table or place them outside the lab doors. There are also lens cleaner/anti-fog single use towelettes available.
Masks are available for lab personnel and vendors that have forgotten to bring a face covering. If you need a mask there are some cloth and disposable masks at the front desk. If Asina is not present please contact your building manager.
All atrium doors are security and fire doors and must remain closed at all times.
Break areas
The conference rooms have been designated single occupancy mask break rooms where you can safely take a break and remove your mask. We ask that you reserve the room using the calendar. Create a meeting and invite the room (977-181A-CR(16), 977-248-CR(25), 977(CR)-153(20) ). Conference room 223 has no calendar designation but can also be used. Please sanitize the surfaces before and after use. Cleaning materials are available in each conference room.
Office rooms 139, 194, 219 and 261 have also been designated single occupancy mask break areas. Please close and lock the door while in use and sanitize the surfaces before and after use. Cleaning material is in each room.
Please keep the doors to the designated break areas open when you leave to let others know they are available to be used.
Kitchens
Kitchens are to be used for food storage and preparation only and have been designated single occupancy. No loitering or eating in the kitchens. Please sanitize all used surfaces and appliances. DO NOT spray disinfectant directly on appliances. Use the towels to wipe them down.
Restrooms
All multi-use restrooms in the atrium have had adjacent stalls and sinks taped off. Max occupancy is 3 people. Please leave all restroom doors opened with a doorstop when not in use. A closed door is a warning that someone is in the room and to enter cautiously. Cleaning supplies to sanitize used surfaces are in each restroom on the taped off center sink.
The single occupancy restrooms have a table with surface sanitizer outside the two rooms.
Cubicles
Masks must be worn when using a cubicle. Please be sure you are at least 6 feet away from another person in the cubicle areas. We ask that you use the cubicles only when absolutely necessary. Any work done onsite is limited to activities that cannot be accomplished via telework.
Labs
Research Groups / PIs are responsible for providing sanitizing solutions (such as 70% Ethanol) for sanitizing surfaces and equipment in their own lab work areas. The surface sanitizers provided by the Berkeley Lab are for common and office areas.
All lab entrance doors are fire doors and must remain closed at all times.
Stairways
All Stairways are designated single person use. If there is someone using a stairway, please wait for that person to be clear before using it yourself.
