Ordering A Computer
Purchasing a computer, you need to fill out LBL Standard Computer Request Form - This form is for use by anyone wishing to purchase a laptop, desktop, or iPad from one of IT's Lab-standard models. All Operations personnel will use this form for system requests, except under special circumstances. Click here to learn more about the request for a computer. Computers may not be purchased on Division PCards or reimbursed. If a computer needs to be drop-shipped, arrangements will be made for asset tagging.
The custom computer request form is for users who have specific computer specifications that are not available in the LBL IT standard models (ie, extra RAM, larger storage, etc).
IT Division Website
In 2021, the Information Technologies (IT) Division launched a new website in order to provide a more accessible and user-friendly navigation experience.
The IT Division provides a diverse array of services to maintain stewardship of Berkeley Lab’s strategic priorities and scientific research mission, in addition to supporting business applications, technologies services, and related infrastructure.
The new website design is in alignment with other LBNL Operations Division websites and includes responsive features for adaptive viewing on smartphones and tablets. The website is also easier to maintain with fresh content. Stay tuned at the end of November for the follow-up launch of a monthly IT newsletter to help Berkeley Lab staff stay up to date on the latest activities and recommendations from IT subject matter experts.
